eSlide::Suite is a set of tools for acquisition, preparation and visualization of digital slides. It is being released for free, as is, but in the near future also sources will be made available.
The Suite is composed by the software modules needed for dealing with digital slides:
The eSlide::Scope and eSlide::Pyramid tools can be run on any Java supporting system, including Windows, Linux and MacOSX. eSlide::Acquisition, due to the need for acquisition drivers, can be run in principle only on Windows and MacOSX, although it has been fully tested only on Windows XP.
UPDATE (20060801): a successful test has been made also on MacOSX 10.4.7, on a PB12" and a G5 DP 2.5GHz.
At present, this preliminary release (v0.9a, 20060629) is very limited in the kind of acquisition hardware supported:
Stage compatibility depends upon our previously released IJStage software, so as soon as other plugins will be available, they will be included also in the suite.
