eSlide::Scope web version is a digital slide viewer, fully based on web technologies, and in particular on Flex and OpenZoom library.
eSlide::Scope accepts digital slides described by means of the RDF scheme described in Della Mea et al, AN RDF-based proposal for digital pathology cases on the Semantic Web (MEDNET2002).
eSlide::Scope is still in beta phase, so not all features are ready, and bugs may still be present. However, it is fairly usable now.
The viewer presents a left column with slide data, a button for loading cases, a slide overview acting as locator, and a popup menu for magnification (please note that magnificatins less than 1.25x are not shown, but available). The viewer area shows the slide image.

When looking at a slide, stage movements can be made with mouse (left-clicking and holding button while moving) or with keyboard (arrow keys). Alternatively, it is possible to change position by clicking on the slide overview. Magnification can be increased by single-clicking on the field, and can be decreased with shift-click. Alternatively, magnification can be controlled with the menu on the left column.
On the top right of the viewer area there is a button that switches between the basic mode (left column + viewer area) and the full screen mode, where the left column is hidden, although slide overview remains visible.

The viewer is a Flash object, so it can be embedded into web pages as usual. However, it is possible to pass parameters to influence appearance and load slides by default.
